The Schaumburg Business Association (SBA) is an organization that strives to create unique opportunities and foster alliances for organizations doing business in and around Schaumburg. It represents more than 700+ businesses and over 4000+ members from all major industries and connects members to each other and to the community, serving as the primary advocate for businesses in the region. They embody the spirit of our business community by providing outstanding programs and services so their members can grow and prosper.
The SBA hosts the Toast of Schaumburg yearly to celebrate the business community and recognize the members of the committee that made great contributions to the organization. The Volunteer of the Year is awarded at the Toast of Schaumburg every year. This award recognizes an individual member of the SBA who has generously given their time and talents to benefit and support the overall goals of the SBA and its members. This year, the SBA has recognized Kari-Ann Ryan as Volunteer of the Year at the 2022 Toast of Schaumburg.
Kari-Ann Ryan is the Director of Marketing & Development for Mid-West Moving & Storage and Chicago Office Movers. In this role, Kari-Ann oversees all the marketing and branding initiatives for both companies as well as business development and sales support. In addition to her work, she she serves on SBA committees, volunteers at events, serves on the Board of Directors, is the outgoing Chairwoman of the Board for 2021 and 2022. She won the Ambassador of the Year award in 2012, the Laurie Stone Woman of the Year Award in 2019, and the Leader of the Year Award in 2020. Kari-Ann is a founding member of the SBA’s elite Ambassador Team and chairs a noncompete networking group within the SBA called Power of Partnerships. She also hosts quarterly woman in business luncheons co-sponsored by Mid-West Moving & Storage and Chicago Office Movers.
Locally, she is the Community Co-Chair for the Northwest Suburban Walk To End Alzheimer’s, runs the number 1 top fundraising team for the walk (Team Lost Souls) and both her team and her personal fundraising are within the top 20 in the nation for dollars raised.

Myself and all my fellow nominees and past winners of this honor did not set out to give back with a goal of an award in mind. The goal is much bigger than that and I support and give back because in the end I hope to make a difference.”
